GUIDELINES

01. GENERAL.Hello!! This is an independent roleplay blog for a KELVIN TIMELINE / ALTERNATE ORIGINAL SERIES SPOCK. My portrayal is heavily and only influenced by Star Trek 2009 / Star Trek: Into Darkness, personal headcanons, & the AOS Star Trek novels.Est. May 2016.This blog is open to the following:

I am really, really slow. I run entirely off a queue and am very rarely on the dash. Please be aware that my activity is very sporadic and replies can take months to post. If you require replies in some kind of timeline, this is not the blog for you. But know that my speed does not equal my interest, and that I will always offer the same courtesy. There is never any rush here.Thank you in advance for your patience.

02. FOLLOWING.Highly selective & very, very private. I am mutuals & 21+ only. At minimum, something relative to your age & a rules page must be present on your blog. I do like a clean dash in terms of trimmed posts & that posts are tagged. I will not follow if negativity/anon hate/callouts/drama seem consistent on a blog.I am here mostly for my friends. But in any case, due to sporadic activity and limited free time, I will not follow everyone back that follows me. If you unfollow me for whatever reason, soft or hardblock. I will do the same.*After some time, I will do a cleanup of followers that I am not interacting with whether that's ic or ooc. I am very slow myself, so I have a lot of grace around what that time frame is. It's not personal.

03. WRITING.I am open to any format; one-liner, para, crack, all of it. I use icons ( 100x200 ) for most of my threads by default; replies without icons will be emulated in latter replies. If you need me to alter any formatting so it's easier for you, lmk! No godmodding, reply to asks in new posts, & trim posts if possible.Please see the muse section for important notes on characterization. I do not write any other iteration of Spock.I am only interested in larger development and world building at this time. I do not post starter calls but I may like someone else's and will reblog a meme occasionally that anyone can send to feel things out.I write at my own pace and wherever Spock takes me. My queue runs once a day.*Activity Note: I prefer and will opt to write on discord over tumblr any day. I like to start on tumblr to gauge chemistry first but for more long-term plots and world-building, I would rather write on discord instead.

04. WARNINGS.This blog may contain mature content or nsfw material such as dark themes, violence, etc. I don't use read-mores but tags will be used as appropriate ( main warnings tags are: "on screen | nsfw.", "nsft.", or “insert warning here tw” if you wish to blacklist ).

05. SHIPPING.I am multiverse / multi-ship but extremely selective with romantic shipping. Chemistry is key. More or less, our muses either vibe like that through threads/plots/ooc chat or they don't.I don't autoship (especially fanon/canon ships seen posted to my blog). Please do not assume that I will ship something because I'm shipping with the same or similar muse.Forced shipping will result in a hard block.I won't write with OC children of my muse, no exceptions.

06. MAINS.Mains are reserved for ic / ooc chemistry only, and are only updated at my discretion. It's probably pretty clear who they are on my blog. If not, they know who they are. This is really more for my confidence that I can bug these folks for anything at any time than it is any kind of limitation.*I do not participate and will not reciprocate in affiliates or exclusives.

07. NO HATE ZONE.This blog is drama/hate free. Don't be a dick. I don't wanna hear about it; I want nothing to do with any of it. If you’re offended, don’t like something that happens on this blog, or whatever the hell else, die mad and block me. If needed, I will hard block for my own comfort and move on.Persistent negative, passive aggressive posting, callouts, consistent bad vibes, etc., will result in a hard block.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

CHARACTERIZATION.My portrayal of Spock draws heavily from both Star Trek 2009 and Star Trek: Into Darkness with only some elements from Star Trek: Beyond, as well as influence from other writings/novels/comics as they make sense to my portrayal.Spock was raised to be as Vulcan as possible under advanced hostile conditions, and will protect himself from vulnerability at the cost of connecting with someone. He is brutally logical, more emotionally unpredictable than is expected of a Vulcan, and prone to intensity. This can make him hard to read ( especially since he doesn't talk much ), but he is capable of compassion and likely wants to connect. It is just difficult for him.*Please note that while I might consider content from the TOS/SNW timelines, I do not write any other version of Spock, and it is highly likely my Spock will not have experienced the same events as his counterparts. This is not a slight on the newer material ( I very much enjoy them), only that the timelines are different. Folks are welcome to ask about any details stemming from the AOS/Kelvin timeline as I interpret them.I will not blend characterizations or blur timelines either. If I am writing with characters from other trek timelines, please keep in mind that I will only write a crossover or ALT universes or an entirely separate AU with plotting. There are significant events that impact and influence AOS Spock, and they are important to me and his character.

SPECIES INFORMATION.Vulcans: have their hearts where humans have their livers / have copper-based blood that is green / have sensitive hearing / are more comfortable in warmer temperatures due to the natural climate of their original home world / are an endangered species numbering at approximately ten thousand / have a denser bone mass, making them heavier in weight / are touch telepaths through skin contact of their hands / on average, are three times physically stronger than humans

UNIQUE INFORMATION.

  • Spock is famously the only vulcan / human hybrid to reach adulthood during his lifetime due to genetic complications; his conception required scientific intervention

  • Due to his hybrid nature, it is highly likely Spock is sterile and cannot have children

  • Spock’s family name (S'chn T'Gai) is virtually unpronounceable to the human tongue

  • Spock is not in a present relationship with Nyota Uhura but have a background of strong friendship together (this is mainly to bar auto-ships; however, given chemistry, I'm down to maintain canon in this regard)

While attending Starfleet academy, Spock specialized in computer programming ( developing the Kobayashi maru ) while tracking towards science officer. As an instructor, he taught advanced phonology & interspecies ethics.

FIVE YEAR MISSION! VERSE. M | DO NOT GO QUIETLY

All star trek related threads will default here unless the verse splits off into a single, closed verse. May involve subplots of all occurences, as well as the events of Vulcan, the battle for earth, five year mission, & beyond.
